Emerald Green

Emerald is apparently THE color for 2013 and I am definitely OK with this decision. Good job Pantone! Here are a few emerald pics to make you green with envy!

Personal Style: Foxy Lady

So I came across this fox sweater at Old Navy and was quickly reminded of a picture of the one and only Taylor Swift wearing a similar sweater not so long ago. Taylor's sweater I'm sure is designer and very expensive. My fox sweater was on sale for $15 at Old Navy and that's about as much as I was wiling to shell out for a sweater with a fox on it. Don't get me wrong I really like it for a casual day at work paired with sparkly flats (not pictured). Sorry Tay, I win this one.

Personal Style: Holiday Party

Fur Vest: Vince Camuto (old), Sweater: Gap, Skinnies: Gap (old), Clutch: Mossimo, Heels: Mossimo

One of the most fun families I know hosted a fabulous holiday party over the weekend and this is what I wore. It was such a blast and so nice that pants were appropriate. I went with all black because I wanted my fun heels to pop. I added the fur vest, well, just because I love fur! My heels and clutch are both from Target and you would never know. In fact I had to tell people over and over again that my heels were from Target and $30. I would scoop up a pair of these cap toe cuties if I were you! How fun  is this tasseled clutch? Such an easy and party perfect outfit!

Profile: The Rolling Stones

The Hubs and I recently watched  Crossfire Hurricane.  A new documentary on The Rolling Stones in honor of their 50th anniversary. It was one of the best things I've ever watched and so incredibly badass. Needless to say we are still talking about it two weeks later. It's truly amazing the influence they had then and continue to have now. Not just with their music, but with everything from how people dressed and wore their hair. Their personal style is off the charts. I'm most definitely not a music buff, just someone who loves The Rolling Stones and all things 60s and 70s. I would seriously do just about anything to go to one of the reunion concerts!

One of my favorite scenes in the film was back stage at MSG where Andy Warhol and Jimmy Hendrix were hanging out with them before their show. It just doesn't get much cooler than that. If you don't mind sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll you should check it out!

Dear Santa: Books

I've recently started obsessing over coffee table books. My husband has a much larger book collection than I do. Seriously, there's something wrong with this picture! I love all of his books (think Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, etc) and I love that we each have very specific interests and they go hand in hand. Here are my top four books on my wishlist. All wonderful additions to our table (weird coincidence that they are color coordinated). The Hubs has this book on his wishlist and I hope Santa brings it!!

Holiday: Gift Wrap

Thanks to Pinterest, Holiday gift wrap is going to be taken up a notch this year! There are so many cute options that I love. I really love the look of the brown parchment paper with either a letter or name prominently displayed on the front. Adding a cute ribbon is a nice touch. I'm torn between the simplicity of the options above and the cutesy looks below.  Those pom poms are an amazing substitution for a bow. My sister would love this! I'm ready to kick my wrapping into high gear!

The Perfect Pop

I've been on the hunt for the perfect statement earring that packs a punch but does not take away from what I'm wearing. I love love love this earring from Kate Spade. It's the perfect pop of color and sass. I have the gold ones and I would love to have all the other colors too!

Festive in Plaid

There's something about the holidays that makes me want to wear plaid, I find it very festive. I've always loved plaid probably because I grew up in a school uniform. A simple plaid top or a chic blazer are easy pieces to throw on with jeans for a day of Christmas shopping. I love this pair of plaid flats. I would definitely mix these with a printed blouse and skinnies for a dinner out. A classic Burberry scarf is always a good way to go.  This trench coat from Target is so chic and could possibly be mistaken for Burberry. Tis the season for plaid!
