Pretty Little Things

I really wanted to title this post Pretty Little Things That Make Me Really Happy. But that's a bit long. I have been drooling over these cap toe pumps from JCrew. They are stunning and pretty sassy. This DVF Minaudière is a fun take on a classic evening piece with an interesting pattern and clasp. Outerwear is slowly making it's way out of the closet which means lots of scarves! I love this dark purple peacoat and I think I need it for the last few football games of the season (Go Frogs). Last but not least, statement jewelry always catches my eye especially when it comes to gorgeous jeweled bracelets. These Kate Spade earrings are available in a bevy of colors. I hope you enjoy these beauties as much as I do!

Short post today due to my running out the door to Market!! These are a few cute ensembles I wore to work this week. I'm obsessed with this chevron sweater from JCrew! I'm wearing the winter white blazer and peplum to Market today. Have a great weekend!

In Hot Pursuit: Peter Pan Collar

One tiny detail can make all the difference on a piece of clothing. The peter pan collar is such a dainty detail that I particularly love. It's very girly and can be dressed up or down. The sequins add a nice touch for a night time option. The gold Paul & Joe Sister option in the center is gorgeous and also has a dress version which I'm obsessed with.  I've been eyeing this JCrew pullover for some time. It looks so comfy and perfect for work. I would love to add a few peter pan collars to my wardrobe!

Profile: Tory Burch

Someone that I have a tremendous amount of respect for is Tory Burch. She has grown her business from her kitchen table to international success and she has impeccable taste and style. I also love that her foundation provides women with financial support so women can start businesses and follow their dreams.

Anyone that knows me knows that I love all things Tory. It's luxury but it's accessible. It's boho and beyond chic. The line is always full of gorgeous prints and patterns that mix well with each other. I'm a huge fan of her handbags and shoes in particular. Below are a few wish list items that I'm currently craving!

Glitzy

I'm sitting here watching Gossip Girl (yes, I'm still obsessed) and I love all the glitz and glitter. How fun would it be to rock one of these sparkly blazers just for the hell of it? Who says you can only wear sequins on NYE? The Asos option in the center is my favorite. I would pair it with black skinnies, a loose white tee, and pumps. I like the casual feel with a glam jacket thrown over for an effortless look!

Neck Candy

Here are three pretty accessories to start the week. Anthropologie always has fun pieces that spice up any outfit. Neck candy is my favorite bold statement to make when wearing jewelry!!

Abstract

There is nothing more chic than a large abstract painting. I am dying to have one in my living room and maybe in the bedroom too. Here are a few gorgeous rooms to admire!

Cozy

A look that I absolutely love is leather leggings with an oversized cozy sweater. This is pretty much the only way I would wear leather leggings just because they make a bit self conscious. Also it really dresses the leather down to a polished casual look but still looks nice enough to go out to a nice dinner or to have drinks.  And who doesn't love to wear a big comfy cozy sweater?

Bedroom Makeover

Last week I posted about needing a bedroom spruce and that's exactly what the husband and I are going to do as our Christmas presents to each other! I found these amazing mirrored side tables that are number one on our list to have on both sides of our bed. I love that we will each have three drawers for extra storage. We are also in need of a dresser and this white lacquered one is perfection. Speaking of white lacquer, we are planning on getting two white lacquer desks to have against one wall (IKEA has an identical version of the west elm desk for under $100). Then there comes the decorative accessories like ikat pillows, trays, and frames to add the final touches. So happy to get started!

Embellished

I love myself an embellished top. JCrew has a fabulous selection of tops with a little something extra. I think these tops are great transition pieces from day to night. For day I would layer with a chambray top and pair with a fun pair of flats. For dinner or drinks after work I would take off the chambray and add a pair of heels!

Personal Style: Work

Outfits: JCrew, Old Navy, LOFT, Steve Madden, Tinley Road, Zara, Gap, Tory Burch, Just USA

Another installment of Personal Style. One strange observation from the pictures is that I apparently point my finger while I take my own picture. What a weirdo! Anywho, the weather has been very warm so that has made dressing for fall pretty difficult. I've been wearing light layers daily. The one day it was actually freezing I wore this awesome JCrew puffy vest to work then to a football game. I hope I get to wear it again sometime soon!

In Hot Pursuit: Contrast Blazer

So I am obsessed with the contrast blazer look. I'm drawn to blazers with a leather sleeve. I really like the edginess that it instantly gives your look. My two favorites from the list above are the Michael Kors option and the Zara leather jacket in the center. Paired with black skinnies, a black layering top, and a leopard clutch and you have THE perfect bad ass outfit!

Zara Home

All items via Zara Home

Zara Home is finally available in the US and I'm pretty pumped to be able to shop for fun accessories for around the house. Can you tell that I love neutrals? I gravitate towards whites and neutral colors and then I like to add a pop of color with fun printed curtains, chairs, etc. Here are my top picks so far from Zara Home!

Pumpkins With A Twist

I am not a huge fan of decorating with pumpkins. I have no idea where my aversion to pumpkins came from. I think it's because they are so orange and look really crafty. Pumpkins, personally, just have never been my thing but I love to decorate for the holidays. That's where good ol' Pinterest comes in handy! There are so many ways to make pumpkins look modern and fit in with whatever decor you have. I love the metallic ones as well as the all white look. I also think painting a chevron stripe is super cute and fun!

Bedroom Spruce

My bedroom needs a spruce. We have a nice upholstered headboard and all white linens which I love. We have patterned curtains for the windows and thats about it. These three amazing items I would love to add to the bedroom to make it complete. I am obsessed with this lamp. Our bed would look amazing flanked by mirrored end tables with this lamp on each side. My Hubs and I are in need of a throw to keep at the end of our bed and I want to get one of these faux fur blankets from West Elm. I'm leaning towards the grayish one. Each of these pieces bring in the simple modern touch that I love!

Chantelles Slippers

So I came across this brand on Pinterest yesterday and I can't stop thinking about how I can get my hands on a pair of the monogrammed slippers. I tried to save pictures of ones I made with my initials but it wouldn't save. Annoying. Anywho, it looks like a New York showroom is in the works so hopefully they will be available in the USofA soon. They are pretty pricey but definitely worth it.

Leather Skirt Inspiration

I came across this picture of Kristin Cavallari and I am in love with her look. She looks fabulous for having a baby less than 2 months ago (not fair) and she's wearing this gorgeous dark burgundy leather skirt. I found a few leather options that are similar to Kristin's look. I love this Sparkle and Fade option and I think I'll have to give it a try as soon as Ft. Worth's Urban Outfitters opens later this month! I think this JCrew leather skirt is beautiful and very work appropriate with the knee length hem. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these fun skirts!

Personal Style: Work

All pictures featuring: Zara, JCrew, Gap, Tory Burch, Banana Republic, Steven Madden

I've had girlfriends ask me to post pictures of my outfits. I thought I would slowly start posting photos of outfits I wear to work since that's where you can find me 90% of the time. I'm still a bit uneasy about posting pictures of myself so I'm starting out with headless selfies (yes selfies-my college aged sister informed me that's when people post pictures of themselves online.) The top two pictures are more dressed up looks where I obviously love peplums. The bottom two are more casual. I love light layers and a good stripe. And I definitely had customers walk in on me while I was taking these pictures. Embarrassing.
