I love making a statement with an earring. These Dannijo earrings are my favorite. It's like fireworks for your earlobes. A very close second goes to the Loren Hope option. She majorly knocked it out of the park with her latest collection. Erickson Beamon makes beautiful earrings, pricey, but amazing. I love a good dressed up lobe!

Pinning Peplums

I think I have a problem. I can't stop pinning peplums. I seriously love a good peplum and Pinterest is aiding my addiction.  This Zara peplum jacket is a must--what a great layering piece once Fall decides to make an entrance. I also love both of these peplum blouses. They would both look great with a fun pair of denim. My peplum collection just keeps growing!

What a Steal

I just ordered the above tops from Old Navy at a fraction of the price of the JCrew pieces pictured below. I spotted this dotted chambray top at JCrew a few days ago and didn't pull the trigger. I am so happy I waited because this Old Navy version is practically identical. My sweet friend over at The Investment Boenker posted about this Old Navy sweater last week and again with the savings. I still love you JCrew, but I'll be checking out Old Navy before I pull the trigger from now on!

Guilt Free Friday: Bordeaux Babe

I am pretty much obsessed with this dress. And necklace. The best part is that each piece is under $100. This outfit is very matchy matchy, but surprisingly I don't mind. The versatility of this ensemble is endless--work, dinner date, drinks with the girls, you could even wear it to a wedding this fall. This dress is definitely on the color trend for Fall. I'm loving this necklace, it's absolutely stunning. For a more casual look, I would pair the dress with a smoking slipper.

You know that girl that you really want to hate because they are beautiful and always dressed to the nines, but you actually love them? Well that's how I feel about Olivia Palermo. She has the most enviable wardrobe in my opinion. She layers and accessorizes like no other. And she was my favorite character on The City.

I am seriously coveting 3.1 Phillip Lim handbags right now! I love that they are all so modern and structured. My favorite is the color blocked 31 Hour Leather Tote. It would go with just about anything. Honestly, they are all my favorite!

Well I'm going to have to get this top in both colors because I can't decide which one I love more! Talk about the perfect casual top for Fall. Stripes, peplum, and it's only $58. Done and done!

Ballet Flats

I love ballet flats. They are so classic and polish off any outfit. I live in flats during the Fall and Winter, they are the perfect comfy, cute shoe for work. Gap and Banana Republic have tons of colors to choose from and are priced really well. My personal preference from the Gap would be the purple pair (Go Frog's). The Prada two-tone pair adds a nice pop of color with the orange toe. I adore this pair with the metallic stars found at Calypso St. Barths. Of course I found a pair at Tory Burch that are absolute perfection. JCrew offers a funky version with this bright plaid print. I will definitely be stocking up on the Gap options, they are only $40!

Work Day Outfit: Market

I wear many hats at work but my favorite role at work is being a Buyer. I'm heading to Market this weekend and I am so excited. This is a super cute and fun outfit that I would love to wear to a long day at Market. I have been wanting these printed pants from JCrew since the second I first spotted them. I love the idea of pairing these pants with bright colors. Adding a contrasting print with the Marni tote adds a little something extra! I always take a shopper tote with me to hold all of my paperwork, etc. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to two long days in fashion heaven!

I have one word to describe Equipment blouses and that word is yummy. These tops are beyond amazing and so silky soft. Yummy yummy yummy. They are also very expensive. I do not own one, but I have discovered that LastCall usually has really reasonable prices on Equipment pieces. These are my favorites from the current collection. I'm seriously loving the snake printed options--such a great neutral! Hopefully I can add one to my closet one of these days!

Style Inspiration: Taylor Tomasi-Hill

Taylor Tomasi-Hill has the most amazing sense of style. I envy her ability to mix and match pretty much anything and look like a complete badass. She makes it look so easy. She is the Artistic Director of every girls best friend, Moda Operandi, and I just learned she's a Texan (Highland Park to be exact). I just LOVE her and I'm obsessed with her hair!

The Skinny on Denim

Move over blue jeans, there are a ton of funky new options popping up for Fall. Between printed, ombre, and metallic, just to name a few, it's going to be hard to choose. I personally love the floral printed and the ombre the most. The front slits and hint of leather on the J Brand pair are pretty appealing to me, too. I love all of the zipper details on the Victoria Beckham pair, they give the denim a little edge. All of these skinnies give a whole new meaning to the term party-pants!

Why is the week back from vacation so hectic? I need a vacation from vacation. With that being said, here is a really short post for the day featuring two gorgeous purses that I'm currently drooling over. Enjoy the eye candy!

Jackets and Blazers

My favorite thing to throw on with a great pair of skinnies is a nice blazer or jacket. It polishes off any outfit whether it's casual or dressed up. It's great for work when you want to get away with wearing a loose fitting tee and jeans. Zara is definitely going to be my go to this fall for a blazer. I love the different fabrics they offer and cute button detailing. Even though this Rebecca Minkoff option is pricey, I can't help but stare at it. I love the idea of a fitted velvet blazer. JCrew has a ton of gorgeous colors to choose from and my personal favorite is the boulevard green (shown below). Obviously I had to include something furry, and this Alice+Olivia faux fur is so cute and doesn't appear to be super heavy. Finally, I love how this Helmut Lang shawl jacket just drapes in the front and the back is pretty much amazing. More posts coming soon on coats and leather jackets!

Lovely Kitchens

I am in LOVE with the backsplash tiles in the picture below. I will most definitely do this in my future kitchen!

Vacation Snapshots

 

Well its back to the real world, another wonderful week at the lake has come to an end. We have spent the week relaxing, hanging at the beach, lots of family time, yummy dinners, game nights, boating, sailing, fishing, watching the Olympics, drinking wine, pedicures with my SIL (a new tradition), and just enjoying the cool weather. Another installment of Guilt Free Friday with conversation starting kitchen gadgets. These tea towels have been floating around Pinterest lately and I love them! They would make a great hostess or housewarming gift. I'm really into the use of pearl on the serving pieces and the horn on the bottle opener. They look way more expensive than they actually are. I've been in the market for a small wine rack and stumbled upon these wooden options from West Elm and they are exactly what I've been wanting! I also love the look of gold flatware and this version from Anthro is really interesting and spices things up. I would honestly love to add all of these to my kitchen. Have a wonderful weekend!

 As much as I love to see famous starlets in big gorgeous ball gowns at award shows or movie premieres, I actually prefer seeing what they wear around town in "real life". I think you get to see more of their personal taste and style when they are just out and about. Miranda Kerr has been killing it lately. Everyday pictures surface of her wearing to die for outfits. Her style is so easy and effortless but so chic. And she always has amazing handbags!
