Guilt Free Friday: Clutches

H&M Color Block Clutch, Club Monaco Franny Clutch, Forever 21 Oversized Envelope Clutch, Tarnish Plate Clutch, Zara Clutch, Asos Slot Through Envelope Clutch

Happy Friday! To celebrate the end of the work week I am going to have a weekly Guilt Free Friday post about all things under $100! This week it's all about clutches. I love a clutch. I really love a clutch that's guilt free. They are just so easy to grab on the way to dinner and drinks and they look so chic. Clutches are also the perfect way to add a POC (pop of color) and spice up any ensemble. I have been admiring this Club Monaco clutch for some time and it finally went on sale! It's my favorite from this lineup. I also love the H&M color blocked option that also allows you to cross body if you choose with a delicate metal chain. I also really like how the pattern of the Tarnish straw clutch would add texture to any outfit. Shop your way into the weekend without any price tag woes!

Sassy Nudes

I love a nude flat sandal especially when it has a bit of sass. A hint of metallic, sparkles, even a small bow can turn a relatively uninteresting sandal into your most exciting accessory. I pinned this sparkly flat from H&M a few days ago and I cannot wait to get my hands on a pair. Damn them for not offering online shopping. Did I mention they are $18?!? On the other end of the price spectrum, I fell in love with these Tory Burch sandals with bow embellishments. They are so cute and dainty. In my book, Tory can do no wrong. The DVF option adds a perfect pop of color while the Zara sandal is a welcome addition of  metallic!

I can't stop thinking about the Tory Burch bows....

Living Room Inspiration Board: Target Ikat Chairs

I found these ikat chairs on Pinterest back around Christmas and I was shocked to find out they were from Target. Guess what Santa brought me? Yep, two of these beauties! I have been slowly (very slowly, like have not started) decorating our living room around them. I tend to lean more modern when it comes to home decor. I love blues and whites with gold thrown in here and there. I also love mixing patterns and textures. These quatrefoil lamps are major wish list items, I'm pretty much obsessed with them. The Prada Marfa canvas is on my Christmas list this year (hopefully Santa is reading this!)

Chambray Obsessed

There is something about a chambray shirt that I cannot get enough of lately. I have been pairing mine with everything. It is the absolute perfect neural top and so easy to throw on with white denim, printed skirts, or a simple pair of shorts. I usually do not wear basic button downs, honestly they bore me to tears, but chambray is a different story. It's so simple yet can pull an entire look together!  The JCrew chambray top is my favorite and super comfy. Jenna Lyons has perfected the the art of pairing denim with anything (especially sequin midi skirts)!

Work Day Flair

I am the Buyer and Manager of a local boutique here in Ft. Worth which means that I can wear whatever I want to work. Thank goodness because I could not follow an office dress code. Seriously, I would go crazy. I mix it up daily between a casual dress or jeans of some variation and a cute blouse. My work apparel has to be easy and comfortable, no fuss, since I'm on my feet all day and am constantly lifting boxes or changing displays. I have been coveting these ikat jeans for some time now and I have not pulled the trigger (yet). This would be my ideal work day ensemble. It's easy yet stylish! I love the Mulberry top, this is a major wish list item, hey a girl can dream! A splash of turquoise is always a must.

For an after work happy hour or date night on the weekend I would add a leopard clutch and the perfect nude wedges.

In Hot Pursuit: Gold Watch

I have been wanting to add a gold watch to my arm candy for awhile now. Since I don't wear a ton of gold jewelry, I really don't want to spend a ton of money. Even though I would love to splurge on the Michele, I really love this La Mer option even more. I love the way it wraps around the wrist just waiting to have multiple bracelets stacked with it. Under $100 sounds like a steal to me!

Spicing up the LWD

Apricot Nectar Necklace, Dannijo Necklace, Tufted Neon Cuff, Holst + Lee Bracelet, Dara Ettinger Adelaide Earrings, Dannijo Earrings

The Little White Dress is a summer essential here in Texas, really anywhere. The summer heat is just not conducive to many layers of clothes. One of my favorite things to wear when the temp reaches the triple digits is a light weight white dress. To spice up my neutral ensemble I love to add a bright piece of jewelry. Adding a statement necklace or cuff, even an earring is the perfect way to bring your outfit to life. Throw on a wedge and you are ready to go!

Welcome!

Welcome to Pursuing Style, my little corner of the world to share all of the things that inspire me. I thought I would jump on the blog bandwagon to have a way to channel my creativity and talk about all the things I love. Here are a few things about me: I work in fashion, children's fashion to be exact. I have been happily married for a year and a half to the most amazing person. I love to decorate. Mexican food is my downfall (did I mention I'm a Texan). I'm an eternal optimist. I am obsessed with ikat (post soon on ikat chairs I found at Target). I recently discovered that I have a green thumb therefore we have plants and flowers all over our apartment! Pinterest and blog reading take up most part of my workday mornings.

I hope you will stop by to see what's inspiring me from day to day!

xoxo,

Lauren
